"In literature, I've always been more interested in decadence than realism. For me, horror and the supernatural are part of everyday reality. Those things stem from a subconcious need to create a comforting image. You could perhaps compare it to sad songs. I often shed tears while working, and only then do I know that im suffusing the theme with something mournful."
